T-Shirt Painting Day!

Here's the drill. You get a plain t-shirt and/or banner, you paint or design something super wicked awesome about how rad your sexual identity is, and then wear the shit out of it during Pride so all on lookers can go "Damn son! That's some sweet threads!"
Either that or this is a nice day to get creative and hang out with nice peeps in the pub

Bring along plain t-shirts, cardboard (for banners or helping to draw onto your t-shirt) and any drawing/paint supplies. We'll be meeting at 12:15pm tomorrow (Sunday 3rd July) at The Windmill on Windmill Hill which has plenty of seating, hot and cold drinks and also does a cracking sunday roast if you fancy it. Friends and family also welcome!

BiVisible June - Biphobia Workshop

Hey everyone. Sorry again for the long delay in posts. But we've been working up some treats for the next couple of months

June's social meet (8th of June) is going to do something different! Friend of BiVisible Dr. Nikki Hayfield is coming to visit our group where we'll be having a big flipchart type discussion about themes from her research into the links between appearance / perception and biphobia. We'd love it if as many of us as possible are involved in the discussion. Nikki is also going to be letting us know about how we can get involved in her new research project about bisexuality and identity in relationships. As the region's biggest community of bi people we can really help with informing the sorts of interview questions that are asked in the research! It's going to be a relaxed and interesting evening and we really hope lots of you will come and join in. Meet-ups have been so great recently and we want to see you all again!

Jacq Applebee at Bristol LGBT History Month

One of those most exciting things about this year's Bristol's LGBT History Festival is the amount of talks focusing on minorities in sexuality, gender, race, and culture. One of these talkers is the bisexual activist Jacq Applebee who will bringing their talk Bisexuals of Colour: The Past Influencing the Present and Shaping the Future.

Jacq Applebee is a well known activist for people of colour identifying as bisexual and co-foundered the social and support group 'Bis of Colour'. They are a poet and writer, including the Bis of Colour history report, which can be downloaded here.

Their talk will take place in Studio 2 at the MShed at 12:20 on Saturday 20th of Feb. For more information on Jacq's work click here. You can also donate to their work for Bi's of Colour history here.

Feb Meet! So many Peeps!

A very belated Happy New Year to you all.

The January blues are gone for another year and we're getting closer to longer days and sunnier weather..kinda.

Will start the first blog post of the year with the first social meet of the year. After a little confusion with Hydra Book Shop we had to move the event for one last evening of musical chairs and squishing round tables at Kino Cafe. We had an amazing turn out. Lots of thanks due to Matt of the Bristol Poly group who pushed the event to their members. Was great to see so many new faces.

Next months social will be Wednesday the 9th of March at Hydra Book Shop where we will continue to host our events every 2nd Wednesday of the month. All dates can be found on our social calendar.
