News and January Hiatus

Wouldn't it be lovely to have snow to make into tiny cute hearts but hey ho that's Bristol for you.

We had a great turn out for the Winter Gathering on the 4th and people were quite liking the idea of making Hydra Book Shop our meeting place for next year. Hydra will provide us with a space just for us with plenty of seating to go around. The cafe will be open for coffee, teas and soft drinks for very affordable prices. This will also give us a much better space for debates or talks if these are planned for the future.

The downside to this is we will no longer be able carry on our usual date of 1st Tuesday of the month as this time is already taken up by a different group. We are currently in talks with Hydra and will post our new meetings dates and times soon.

We will be taking a hiatus from meetings in January but the website and facebook page will continue to update with any news or events happening.

From the Bivisble Bristol Team we would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday and a joyful new year.

News and BiVis Winter Gathering

I would like to start off with an apology for the lack of content on this website. It has been a busy last few months for the Bivis team what with house moving and personal issues and it can be hard to keep everything up to date.

That said, we have seen a great boost in people joining us at Kino since we advertised at Pride back in July. We're really pleased we've been able to reach out to so many and we want to continue getting better and better and keeping the Bi community in Bristol and the South West strong.

We'll be making some changes in the new year, which will be announced soon. Until then we would like to invite you to The BiVis Winter Festival Theme Funtime Gathering.

To make a change from the usual Bivisible meeting, come join us at Hydra Books (bottom of Old Market) from 8pm on Friday 4th of December for a glass of spiced punch and cookies (including vegan/gluten free). We know this time of year can be busy for everyone so we'll be providing a chilled and relaxing atmosphere that will ease you into December. We'll have a Wishing Tree for you to write your hopes for the new year and hopefully a few pressies for guests.

No drinks will be sold at this event but there will be a complimentary glass of spiced punch or non boozy fizz and you are more than welcome to bring your own tipple. Old Market provides on road parking close to Hydra as well as down Midland Rd and Waterloo Rd.

As this is a Friday there are plenty of other events happening in Bristol that may take your fancy afterwards. Old Market will be buzzing with activity from the Bear community as the Bristol Bear Bar holds it's annual HiBEARnation weekend. Where the big, beary and beautiful men from all over the country come to visit Bristol. You can find out more information here

One of our new members Bramble has informed us of Love For Sale w/ Marshal Darling. This will be at The Doghouse from 10pm, showcasing the best of what the underground music scene has to offer. You can find out about the event here

The Queenshilling will be hosting DIGILOGUE which will be playing 80's electro and alternative from 10pm.

Know of any events happening? Let us know so we can shout it from on high (or at least put it on the website)

We're really sorry to announce that due to circumstances beyond our control we need to cancel today's bi visibility day event. On behalf of Livvy, Nathan and Joanna, I'd like to apologise to all of you who were looking forward to coming along and celebrating with us. We're really disappointed to have to let you down, especially at such short notice, and we aim to come back soon with a similar event. We hope you all have a great bi visibility day. Be visible and be proud. - Nicholas x

We've joined up with the long running alternative clubnight PSYCHODRAMA for a night of celebrating bivisibilty. This is one of two events we're running this month to celebrate Bivisibilty Day on the 23rd of September.

Members of Bivisible have been to many of PSYCHODRAMA events and we're very excited to be working with them. Especially with the return of the amazing  Dis Charge who will be performing for one night only!

So if you want something  alternative from the LGBT scene in a friendly/ safe space, amazing music and a great atmosphere, please come and join us this Friday (11th September). Facebook event can be found here.

Lovely day for a Picnic!

Don't let this wet Friday damper your thoughts for the weekend. Plenty of groups in Bristol and beyond are taking the chance on the British to bring picnics to the LGBTQA* community.

First up with have BS3 LGBT who will be dining alfresco this Saturday in Victoria Park at 1pm. Their facebook event show directions and contact details if you're interested in joining in. You can find the event here!

For those who identify as polyamorous, there is a Bristol and Southwest Poly meet up picnic at 2pm on Brandon Hill. Check out our Facebook group for more information on this.

If you fancy a day out from Bristol, The Big Queer Picnic in Sophia Gardens, Cardiff will be kicking off at 1pm, celebrating all sexualities and genders through artistic performances. You can find out more information on their facebook event.

If you're busy Saturday or are still hungry for more on Sundy, The Bristol Bear Bar will be hosting their Teddy Bears Picnic in Castle Park from 2pm. Bring your own snacks and drink and dig in with the friendly Bristol bear community, though being a bear doesn't apply! You can find out more here.

None of these events are ran by Bivisible but we at BB HQ feel it's important to spread the word on neighbouring events. If you do have an event that you feel the bisexual community should know about, please feel free to e-mail us at

August Social Meet

Don't forget we have our August social meeting tonight at 8pm at Cafe Kino. If you want more information please feel free to leave a comment or send us an e-mail @

Bivisible at Bristol Pride 2015

It's been a month since Bristol Pride 2015 and we're so happy with how many people joined us in the march. Being in the Rainbow Community Tent also gave us the opportunity to make ourselves visible to so many people and introduce ourselves to other community groups. Besides from one small, disapproving opinion, we had an amazing amount of feedback. Thanks to our team and the funding help from the LGBT Mental Heath Forum we had more lovely faces attend our social meeting the following Tuesday. We hope to continue this work and bring more bisexual events and awareness to everyone in Bristol and the South West.

Here are a couple of photos from Pride but you can check out the rest on our Flickr account.

July Meet - So many new faces!

Looks like advertising at Pride did the job. Both Nick and I were really chuffed to see so many new faces as well as some friendly regulars. We took up 4 tables in the middle of Kino and truly made ourselves visible.

We'd love to get feedback from new comers about how they felt about the social meet. If you have any ideas you'd like to put forward for the next meeting please let us know via comments, facebook or by e-mail.

Next social meeting will be on the 11th of August. We hope to see you there!

P.S Pride photos will be coming soon.

July Social Meet

Bristol Pride 2015

Bristol Pride Week is already underway and Team Bivisible are working hard to be ready for Pride Day this Saturday (11th of July).

If you wish to join us in the parade we'll be meeting in Queen Square at 10am with our bi flag ready.

If you can't make the parade but wish to talk to us we'll be hanging out in the Rainbow Tent with sexy new leaflets and even sexier badges to impress all your friends and get all the dates*.

*Badges not guaranteed to ignite envy in friends or generate a large number of romantic situations with your desired gender(s). They will however look good on a jacket or backpack and give visibility of your bisexual pride.

It's called fashion, Darling!

It's become somewhat of a tradition now that members and friends come together to decorate t-shirts to express our pride for our sexual, gender and romantic identity. These are then proudly worn during Bristol Pride's march for all to see. The rain tried to spoil the day but the fine folk at The Windmill allowed us to use their tables for a few hours.

Welcome to

Welcome to Keeping you informed and up to date with all
things Bi in Bristol.

You may or may not know but before there was, which was created when Bivis first started. However, times are changing for Bivisible Bristol and we felt it was time for a bit of a revamp.

With Bristol Pride 2015 just round the corner and our first ever time in The Rainbow Tent, it was decided that a new website was needed. A new platform to reach out to members old and new, and to advertise meetups and events in one place (Besides the Facebook group, of course).
We also invite members and allies to contribute articles and stories about Bisexuality, Bristol or Bristol Bisexuality.

As for the Wordpress page this will still be available for viewing and finding previous posts.

So welcome! Have a look around and feel free to leave a comment on what you'd like to see from Bivisible in the future.
